A Furzedown diary of events

One of the very special things about the community in Furzedown is just how much it does! We have bat walks, dog shows, jazz concerts, a Christmas Fair, winter solstice celebrations, a pumpkin parade and, of course, The Big Day Out, to name just a few.

  • April 29 aquathlon event based around Tooting Lido consisting of 450m swim (5 lengths), and a 5km swim, and a 5km run around Tooting Common

  • May 21 Friends of Furzedown Rec are holding a tea party at the Rec from 2:30. Fun, music, face painting, activities for kids etc.

  • June 18 Penwortham’s Scarecrow Trail. Find all the scarecrows hiding in Furzedown to be in with a chance of winning a prize! Entry maps, £3, from Penwortham PTA Big Day Out Stall or outside Sprout Arts on the day.
  • June 22 as part of national refugee week, Arthur Smith will be hosting an evening of merriment and nirth in support of the Tooting-based refugee charity, CARAS,  at Tooting Market from 19:30. Tickets only £12.50 available at Eventbrite here.
  • June 24 2-4pm, Table-top sale, Streatham Bowling Club and Sprout
  • June 25 Friends of Tooting Common Summer Solstice celebration

  • Aug 5 Tooting Folk & Blues The free daytime festival celebrates the emerging folk and blues music scene in south London, and acts as a focus to bring the community together. http://www.tootingfolkandblues.co.uk
